This is a class that combines 2 different yoga essences into one practice - bringing together the benefits of passively holding yoga poses as well as movement, breath and flexibility. Yin Yoga is slower restorative practice where poses are passively held for longer, working the deep, dense connective tissues and joints in the body. Yang yoga is the more traditional hatha based asana practice that develops muscular strength, stamina, and flexibility. Yin and Yang are the Taoist concepts which describe the two relative qualities present in everything. Yin is more internal, passive, cooling, and downward. While Yang is more external, dynamic, warming, and upward. This class will be a blend of both of these styles each week! All levels are welcome including beginners!
